309 若魔鬼来试探 Yield Not to Temptation

309 若魔鬼来试探 Yield Not to Temptation

1 Yield not to temptation
For yielding is sin
Each vict’ry will help you
Some other to win

Fight manfully onward
Dark passions subdue
Look ever to Jesus
He’ll carry you through

Chorus:

* Ask the Savior to help you
Comfort strengthen and keep you
He is willing to aid you
He will carry you through

2 Shun evil companions
Bad language disdain
God’s name hold in rev’rence
Nor take it in vain

Be thoughtful and earnest
Kind hearted and true
Look ever to Jesus
He’ll carry you through

3 To him that o’ercometh
God giveth a crown
Thru faith we will conquer
Tho often cast down

He who is our Savior
Our strength will renew
Look ever to Jesus
He’ll carry you through

  1. Thank you very much! I've copied it for my church slides (Easislides)!

  2. I was thinking whether "kind hearted" or "kind-hearted". I look it up online and confirmed "Kind hearted" should be in 2 words instead of one.

    1. Note that adverb / past participle combinations when they are used with a copular verb like be or seem, and come after the noun they modify, are not hyphenated.

Therefore, in this case is "Be... Kind hearted.."
